Definitely dig mine. Flies a little under the radar, too, which is nice.
Also, Morgan, wow! ... Deldog |

I'm loving these Subs! I remember very well coveting and drooling over brand new blue Tudor Subs in the showcase, when I was a kid. IIRC, they were priced around $250-300. A few years' pay for me with my paper route and gas pumping job. You guys are making me drool again. Thanks, I think.
This could get expensive. |

Here's my 7016. Quick q if I may hi-jack the thread. Anyone know if this is a service dial or if the 7016 came with non-snowflake and the shield logo. Serial is 742xxx so I would guess it is from 1970 +/- one year.
Also, would this have come on a Rolex branded 9315 bracelet or what was the correct bracelet back then? Any info appreciated. |

Hi Everyone,
Looks like this is quite an old post so maybe my comments won't get a lot of attention? Anyway, I have a Tudor very much like the one shown in the post above by MorganDK. Unfortunately, years ago, I make a mistake. I've always enjoyed watches, primarily because of the mechanical nature of them. I've had several Rolex and Tudor watches. I needed an everyday/workday watch to wear and abuse for all those "around the house" chores like fixing cars and pouring concrete. I chose my Tudor Monti Carlo chronograph. Now, I see that this was a bad choice as, in original condition, they're valuable. What was I thinking? A Timex would have been fine! My watch is identical to the MorganDK photo posted above except that, on the dial, the area of the seconds markings, and the two small chronograph dials, are blue instead of black, and it has a blue "UNITS PER HOUR" bezel. In '95 I fell and damaged the case. It was replaced at the Rolex Service Center in Dallas. It now needs a new band, a crystal, a service, a polish, and if I can find one, a new blue bezel. I'd like to get it as near new as possible. I've communicated with Vanessa, who posts here, about repairs but she doesn't work on Tudors. She recommends I send it back to Dallas. I'd appreciate any thoughts about the wisdom of having this work done, especially the polishing. Also, any comments about where to get the work done would be appreciated. I know that once a watch is polished, it difficult to unpolish it! I have no intention of selling just now but will likely do so sometime. I love antiques but really have to slap myself around to keep from fixing, refinishing, and restoring. Sorry this post is so long, Rod |

The early dials have somehow suffered a bit more than the rolex ones, but the advantages with the rare and early tudor sub references is that you can get them for a lot less than the equivalent rolex ones, and in my opinion still undervalued. But if you are lucky you can end up with a rare references for a reasonable price.
See below, a 7928 PCG with an underline dial in unpolished and pristine condition. Good luck with finding the right model for you! http://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/...t=_1080025.jpghttp://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/...t=_1080025.jpg |
