I need the date. The fact that it changes in a heartbeat is priceless.

Haha...good stuff. I write with the slighty bigger letters to help those with a little worse vision. Been at this forum and CS stuff for awhile, and also just spent a year corresponding with a friend who had blurry vision from chemo

I need it for work filling out log books etc. I look at my watch for the date 20 times a day. Its not a life or death need but something I need from a watch nonetheless.

I have watches with and without a date. It is useful, but setting a watch with a date is always more involved. The large text in this thread is obnoxious.

Yes, I need the date. I thought I could live without it but became annoyed when ever I couldn't remember and looked at my wrist and the date wasn't there. That is why the no date Sub is my SECOND favorite watch of all time. I love that symetrical watch face but I gotta have the date.

Large text is obnoxious? That's really unnecessary, and not very nice.

I actually miss it when I wear my Milgauss. It is the only watch I own that doesn't have a date.

How do you find the comfort of the Sub-C? Tried one on today, and I'm on the fence. I love it when I try it on, but not so sure long-term. What's your wrist size?

At the end of the day, we dont actually need a watch at all (Cell phones, computers etc etc) however, we all want to tell the time on our mechanical timepeices. Personally I do not need a date, hence I wear my Daytona all the time. I do appreciate that some do require the date feature though, i also believe that this is born out of habit (used to a watch with a date) and after wearing a non date watch for a while, it wouldn't bother most.

I am absolutely used to it and the few times I wear my Omega Speedmaster, I discover how much I miss it if I don't have the date function. So yes, it is indispensable. Time and date go together.

Yes, it's considered screaming and rude.

I agree, it's unnecessary and not very nice to continue when being told.

I prefer a date function but far from "needing" one. Hell, I don't even need a watch nowadays but I prefer to wear one

I disagree. I'd say that using all capital letters is more along those lines. I notice several font size settings for our selection when posting, and don't see any rules regulating their use, especially at a reasonable "medium" size which may be more visible to certain members. Thanks for your opinion. In my opinion, criticizing others unnecessarily and calling them "obnoxious" is considered rude ... To each his own.

Well, there are a lot of reasons, but I find it curious you'd ask that here. Do you not wear a watch? I do find it amusing when I see people fumbling for a phone, getting the display up and finally finding the time. It seems so archaic, and reminds me what it must have been like to have a pocket watch. Which...I actually think are very cool.

As to the OP's question, I do need it, and miss it since I switched to a non date watch, but I love the clean crystal. I love the cyclops...and dislike it too. Real dilemma, but it makes me think Sea Dweller....

On a message board, bold facing or increasing the size of one's text is akin to raising one's voice. Definitely not necessary and yes, obnoxious. Those who may have trouble reading text online have adjusted the font size on their browsers. Finally for those that are reading on a mobile device, they loose a lot of screen real estate to oversized text. I see at least three others in this thread that have complained about the text size, yet no one is saying everybody else's is too small. There is no need for the large text unless if your intention really is to yell at us.

Well, some people (even on this forum) wear their watches only outside their homes and take them off when they come home. That is weird.

I used to be able to remember the date all day many years ago. Now, not so much. When my DJ is in for service, I wear my OP no date. At those times, I really miss the date feature. For me, a watch should be functional, and I consider the date to be an important function.

I've been writing exactly like this for almost seven years now on various forums, and it seems to have worked out ok, my good man. Believe it or not, many have thanked me. Sorry if it's unsettling to you, but "C'est la vie" Everyone can't be happy all of the time. .

I like the date function and use it often. My girlfriend never sets or looks at the date on her's. It kind of drives me crazy when it off so I fix it when she's not looking.
