I suppose it would have been easier, but it wouldn't have been nearly as fun. We had a blast and didn't think of the adventure as a hassle. I got to try on all of those APs, plus my wife and I had lunch by the ocean in La Jolla, partied on Mission Beach, and took downtown San Diego by storm. Some great memories associate with my watch.

By the way, really nice Grand Prix you have there! Did you get that at TZ, Watchnet, or a dealer online?
Completely understand. Your right, the adventure is being able to take a look at all the different models, try them on and see how they fit, feel etc. I was thinking that you had already tried the Panda on.. that's why I mentioned looking online. Hope you enjoy it to the fullest!

Nice looking watch. I hear a overhaul costs over $3,000. Will you still enjoy your watch, then?

snap! i bought the same watch, its a lovely alternative to my rolexes.
the polish is amazing and its size is imposing together with that thick hornback strap.
though i think red stiching may have been a better choice for the designers.

what camera did u use buddy, amazing clarity!!

pls post up the odyssey for a set of diamond ear-rings for a dream wife!!

You're right... It's pretty fantastic. I think red stitching would be nice too. I used a Nikon D5100 on those closeups. I'll let you know how the earring hunt goes. Thanks!

Buddy, I don't get where you got your US$3000 for a "overhaul" from??

you can the pricelist on http://www.audemarspiguet.com/customer-service/
an overhaul is a little over a 1000bucks, and Ap has a 3year warranty.

"Display :
hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph
1080-1160* 210-260* 220* 370-420*

* The prices indicated correspond to the recommended pre-tax retail price in Swiss francs."

My ref. 5402 is one of the first AP Royal Oak Jumbos produced in 1972 and they want $3K to do a major overhaul. The watch needs to be serviced in Le Brassus and that's what the AP Service Center in Clearwater, FL quoted me. By the way, the AP service warranty is 2 years.
