Of course buying an expensive watch and hiding it is wasted money..
I'm just saying that the fact that Sub is worn everywhere takes something from its beauty, in my eyes. I prefer to wear a watch that someone who doesn't know much about watches would have to get close to it to find out what it is.
In my opinion allways and of course without any intention of offending anyone. Besides, I also find that Sub is a wonderful watch.

I am with you 100% on this. That is why I bought an Explorer II. I see subs everywhere and, as much as I like them, I too wanted something a little more subdued.

I tried on the newer version of the Explorer I and was VERY tempted to get it; however, I really like having a date feature and wanted a GMT this time around.

I think you will be extremely satisfied with your choice and find that the Explorer I will be your constant companion no matter what your situation or dress.

I'm going to spent a large amount on an exspensive watch and the 214270 is first on my list. I 've rejected the Sub ND because it shouts it is a rolex and is very common.
I have doupts if the explorer is casual and sportive enough, I'm 27 and I want it as an everyday watch - at work and fun!
I 'm also looking a very different watch, the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver, which is a very uncommon watch, but I'm afraid of after sales service and value.

Thank you in advance!
It may be common on here but trust me I've seen about 2 in exisitence in the last year, and I look at EVERYONE'S watch.

If I were you I would get a sub-c, or if you really want to seperate yourself from what most have in the Diver's lineup then get a TT Sub-C, a TT Blue Sub-C, a Green Sub-c, or possibly even a Datejust I or Datejust II since there are so many different dial combinations.

To Bmonroy17:

The black strap looks great on the Explorer, where did you buy it from?

To the original poster: I think we share similar tastes in watches. I too have a Speedy and I too am 26.

Thank you all for your wishes!!!

Wearing it I believe is the best choice for a distinctive in-house mechanism everyday watch!

As soon as possible I'll post more pics!

I'm also thinking about the Explorer... Let's see. It's a great looking watch indeed!

I have jsut bought my first rolex which happens to be the 39mm Exp. I have had it since thursday last week and just find myself looking at it without realising the time. I agree that if you are happy with it go for it.

I wear it with a suit during the day and jeans at night and although you say it isnt shouty people still notice it!!

To Andrey:

Hehe...nope, but I am looking at the Tag Carerra.

Don't tell me you have your eyes set on a 2011 Daytona though! It doesn't look as plain as the Explorer but I think I've fallen in love with it.

Hm, a white gold with brown leather strap daytona would be perfect!
But it is totally out of my budget...

I also have a blue Orient Mako for the summers.!

Well, they say a picture tells a thousand words but I say a video tells a million words, lol. Check out my youtube video comparing the Air-king and Explorer:

haha....I'm afraid I might not be able to post another video anytime soon, my new toy just arrived in the mail today and already I've made an unboxing video for that (Alienware M11X R3).

If all else works out well though, I'll place an order for a new Daytona and then the video comparisons will be epic!
