Those are some broad assumptions. New York City is home to almost every retail flagship store in the US, more five star hotels than any other US city, and more Michelin star restaurants than any other in the US, all of which do pride themselves on that warm/fuzzy customer service.

The typical NYer isn't rude, they are just more conscious of the concept of time relative to task. It doesn't take 10 minutes to order a cheeseburger and fries from a local diner while a world class dinner should take 3 hours to enjoy. They will spend all day schmoozing you to drop serious money on jewelry and clothing but not to to buy a pack of cigarettes.

The new TWC store is operated by Tourneau here. It is also smaller. Its next to the cartier store which is much larger (they also stock their jewelry as well)

These boutique stores are great. The one in Costa Mesa out here in CA is amazing. They have even Rolex available! If money is REALLY no object, I mean none, then buying here looks like a great experience. They sit you down in these individual-cubical like spaces and "present" everything to you. If you like to shop around for deal though, this is NOT the place to buy. They so no discounting whatsoever outside of the 5% off for paying in cash or, interestingly enough, using their in-house credit department.

Thanks to all that have come to see the new Rolex Boutique by Wempe.
We have been opened for just 18 days. We (Wempe Rolex Boutique Team) are all enjoying working at this new beautiful Boutique.
We're seeing lots of tourists & business people from all over the world, (not just China) buying their new Rolex from us... Some are even from NYC, CT, NJ & Long Island!
Sorry for the unfortunate experience one or two of you guys have had.
Each week has been better than the last, and we're trying our best to give all our Clients excellent service!
