But the one you finally decided to post looks rather good. I think Glashute makes some pretty nice watches actually. I came pretty close to getting one not to long ago, but decided to go another route.

That's a ALS Double Split. I actually thought it was a GO at first too until I looked closer.

Very cool, and with the Zeitwerk they even designed it so we can actually see more of the actual movement.

High power reserve watches make me happy. I'd love to have a lange 31 which takes a key to wind it. I understand they use the same base movement in the Zeitwork, but it can be wound from the crown (no key).
I'm quite happy with my JLC powered 8-day Panerai 190 however. It winds so smoothly without any effort and winds for 8 days (9 days really) with the same number of turns as my 6497 movements. Amazing to me! A grail movement for me would be a repeater or sonnerie, but that will likely never occur.

Drat, something about having to meet those basic needs first. They always have a way of getting in the way at times don't they.

These are two pics that I really like. Not sure of the model as I pulled them off the web. I use them as wallpaper on occasion.

Nice, I think I like the Lange movement bit more though.

The first time I gazed into the back of an ALS Datograph Flyback, it almost made me gasp.
A thing of absolute pure beauty.......... But in terms of importance, a lot has to be said for the Bulova Accutron Tuning fork movement...... a revolutionary and monumental step forward in the approach to timekeeping. As many of you will know, it was the world's first electronic watch and was the first watch to keep time with the revolutionary concept of not using springs or escapement.... effectively making it the first breakthrough in timekeeping in over 300 years. |

And don't forget that the accutron has the most amazing sounding movement which emits a wonderful zen-like "boooooooooooooooooooo" sound!
It also has a whell which contains 300 teeth. It looks totally msooth even under high magnification anfd yet the tuning fork engages with the teeth 300 times per second making the wheel turn a full revolutioon every second. The seconds hand has smoothness that is only seen on the spring drive but with signifacantly cooler technology. Can you tell I like mine?!
