If I had a red sub, I'd wear it daily!

You should wear it, just be extra careful with it.

If you have the extra cash then just buy it and throw it in a safe.
There are many watches out there in the world.
If there is something you can count in the world with your fingers then it is something ultra rare.
It may not be in the million dollar range yet but still a wise investment knowing well you can get back your money's worth anytime and any day.

Look, before you even own the watch someone already wanted to buy it!

since there will probably be a "premium" paid for it's NOS status...

it's between losing the enjoyment of being able to wear a watch vs. how much the premium really means to OP

Watches were meant to wear; if you don't wear them, don't buy them period ....

Wow BNIB Red 1680 !!!

Snap it up, my friend. Rolexes are made to be worn. So enjoy it on your wrist.

Property, shares, gold, bonds, ostrich farms. These are what you really should put your money in if you want an investment.

My thoughts:
- If it's NOS then I would personally keep it in a safe. Something cool about that. I'm assuming since it's BNIB it's a complete set. Very cool.
- If I wanted a daily wearer, I'd buy a pre-loved Red Sub.
- if the price of your friend's NOS Red Sub is equivalent or close to comparable (apples to apples) used Red Sub market prices, I'd buy and figure out whether to wear later.
