It is absolutely educated guessing! I was just trying to give ammo to the original poster, especially since it's for charity. There's bound to be haggling over the price, but if he prints out the two thousand dollar Air King and shows it to his potential buyers it might help him get a better price for it. It's gotta be better than having a starting price of $700! After all, the seller can't negotiate UP....

Edward, I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to sink any more money or time into having it serviced.
But just fyi so you can pass this along to any interested buyer (or not), Rolex has three service centers in the United States, one in LA, NY and Dallas. The watch would come back mechanically sound and looking good. You can get their contact information elsewhere on the TRF in the FAQ sections or on the Rolex website. In any case, I'm hoping you list it here after your mandatory 15/15 is up. Kind of like Paul Harvey's "The Rest Of The Story," ha ha.

Excellent suggestions/points, all. Especially that there is a RSC in three logically geographic points in the country ...makes perfect sense to mention it in a listing. And remember that what I originally wanted was an educated guess as to value, so you all delivered ...I appreciate all the help!! :D. And as I had mentioned it before, I will list here first as you folks obviously know the "history" of this piece, not to mention I'd rather work with knowledgeable forum guys than flea bay tire kickers wanting to turn something on the cheap. Thanks! Edward |

Edward's a man of his word. I bought the watch from him and received it today by UPS. Exactly as the pic's show. I'm loving it. Thanks again Ed.

Well done Wolfgang.
Nice watch, especially with all the bits and pieces, and the price sounds fair for both parties. John. |

Hey there Wolfgang!
Thanks ...your kind words mean a lot as integrity means much to me. And great talking to you the other day, as well. Glad you are enjoying the watch!! It really is a nice piece from this layman's perspective, but even better that it is in hands that will appreciate it more than I. And a huge thanks to this forum and moderator for taking in this newbie and helping him out. Sure you guys know yer stuff, but equally so I really appreciate you guys lending a hand to an "outsider" with great specifics and advice ...thanks, and take care!! Ed |
