Well what is the best cloth and solution to cleaning up a dirty watch or to just polish it up without abrasives..just water and cloth? or is there a jewelry cleaner most of you guys use? I used to have a TT sub and used this jewelry solution that i use on my gold to wash the links (band) up in not the body of the watch and it worked well and thinking if there is a similar solvent you can dip the watch in to clean or would that ruin the seals?

Rolex watches must not be subjected to any harsh treatment like wearing in any not filtered air environment, and salt water with a very high salt gravity.Rolex watches are to be pampered polished 10 times daily with a special Rolex approved polishing cloth that has been R.W.C.P.T tested and fully certified.And you should have a special Rolex resting cloth to place your Rolex on while its on that bed side table with gentle background music to gently lull your Rolex to sleep. This special cloth is a must, but only use the certified ones, just encase you scratch the 904L S.Steel and the movement gets cold.Another warning do not rub the 904L S.steel too hard with the constant rubbing you could go blind, or wear a hole in the case after a hundred years of polishing,or even change your Rolex into a lesser brand. Or you could put it safely back in its box just to be gazed at 30 times a hour but be very careful of any atmospheric dust so best keep the box tightly sealed and closed after gazing.Rolex watches although made from one of the toughest materials known to man mostly S.Steel,and have a high pressure rating for underwater.But today that might be just a Internet myth like many on the net. As I have been using mine underwater for more hours than I can remember.And all I ever done when I could access fresh water was just simply wash rinse and perhaps wipe dry in a towel or any clean cloth.Thats worked for me for well over 10 years as a diving instructor world wide and all my watches are fine without the aid any special cloths or chemical cleaner..

I've never given it a moments thought. I use whatever absorbent material is available if I want to try my watch. Usually I just hold the case, open the clasp, and swing my arm gently to get the water out.
