+1 My most trusted companion, the Omega SMP, was with me through thick and thin for almost 11 years straight to more than 30 countries and 80 major cities. For 6 years it was on my wrist as a frequent traveler visiting about 3 countries every month in time zones that would make my head spin. It was subjected to freezing cold and scorching hot climates on a frequent basis and was put to the test every time I worked out or played sports, worked on my car or accidentally banged it against walls or my wife when sleeping . Dropped it on the ocean floor when I took my diving license but otherwise it never left my wrist for about a decade (except during washing ). It has earned its colors and then some and even though I have now retired it, I will never part with this watch. It has seen life and death, color and darkness, cultural and human diversity beyond that of most people (or watches ) and none of my current watches will ever be able to compete with that

VERY well travelled subs, in excess of 100 mountain summits (most, but not all on Scottish Munros), US, SA, Mid East, quite a few areas of Europe, Falklands, South Georgia, Bermuda. In excess of a few hundred metres underwater numerous times. Not all the same watch though, got to give them all some wrist time!

In the 21 months or so that I have had it my GMT-Master II has displayed 9 time zones:
GMT-8: Los Angeles GMT-7: Tucson GMT-6: Houston GMT-5: New York, Miami, Charlotte NC GMT: London, Newcastle upon Tyne GMT+1: UK, British Summer Time GMT+3: Bahrain, Doha GMT+4: Abu Dhabi, Dubai GMT+8: Singapore. So that is 9 down, 15 to go! |

Everywhere and back, but I confess the Suunto is on the wrist for the more demanding moments. I don't like heavy watches when there is a lot of perspiration and moving around,,,,,,

But this is a watch forum, so the question is: what watches did you wear? |

Crazy shot! I got stuck doing a security detail tomorrow for the Base Air Show, so I might snap some shots with some F16's and such.

Some really great pics here! Strongly thinking if I should contribute here like I have on Dino's SWAG and attire thread...

Considering I've only had this for less than a week, this is the farthest its been from home. Here is the SD eating too much chocolate at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival in San Francisco.
