anyone who 'believes' the Earth is under 10,000 years old needs ... good grief!

Depends on the other forum's main subject matter.

I'm sure that on the Geology forums you'll get a 100% (sans Troll) lean towards one selection and on certain other forums you'll get close to 100% in the opposite direction.

Let's try to keep this one tame though. It could take a turn for the worst if certain things are said.

I'm not voting.

No one has stood on a soap box yet.

Perhaps it'll not happen this time.

I would posit that no one knows, but it seems that the preponderance of evidence points toward more than 10,000 years by a considerable degree.

Whatever reservation I have concerning anything is that the body of scientific knowledge is in a constant state of revision.

Nearly everyday, someone discovers something that calls something else once known as fact into question, especially in the quantum world.

Today it was this:

Shrunken proton baffles scientists

There are few things in life one can say with 100% confidence.

1. Taxes

2. Death

3. 1 +1= 2

4. The earth is over 10,000 years old

There have been skulls found which have been dated to over 195,000 years from Ethiopia so the fact man didn't evolve enough to take note and write about it untill about 6000 years ago doesn't mean it is any less old.

Ahh, yes...Dinosaurs...

I will say that I was actually nervous to vote. I am happy to say that I am glad that a majority side with my belief that the Earth is one old rock. I am going to PM the OP for the link because I got a good laugh here, but need to have a heart attack before I leave work. I will close my door so people dont hear me laughing.

I thought voting was about giving opinions or making decisions. The age of the earth is a fact and a vote won't change it.
