Yes there is a variation between them. Mine is a 4.2 Mill s/n and the 1680/8 on 10pastten is a 5.0 Mill s/n which evidently explains the variance in the font.

Is this something so very special?
What do you think of this, with such a huge estimate price even way back in 2008?

Seems like a lot of money for that watch, and without a 18K bracelet too.

Absolutely stunning watch! I wish they still made nipple dials.

Yours is a beauty

I appreciate all the three fabulous links, posted. Apparently, your baby is a beauty and congratulations. I have been trying to negotiate an example from a friend of mine. For years till today, he is still unmoved and each time I saw him, the watch is found sleeping in one of his drawers. While the stainless-steel ones are indeed attractive and relatively plenty, the solid gold version is something to die for. Do you think, this watch will become a highly desirable collector's piece some while from now, or it is already one? |

Indeed so alluring
SteelerFan65
Indeed this brown dial Submariner 18k is so alluring and uncommon. Surely this brown color dial is highly desirable, compared to the black or blue ones. Is this a changed-color dial from black or blue previously to become brown or originally it came like this, from the factory? |

I join the party thanks to Mr. Shear who got it for me from original owner. I have been trying to get this from
him for a while and finally he agreed to sell a few days ago. So--thanks Andrew and glad I was patient!! Cheers all,
