play both ways

I certainly do not see any harm in buying a good condition used watch. I think if you stick to reputable sellers you should not have a bumpy ride.

Case in point: I just bought an BNIB "M" series DJ. I was not looking to buy that model, I wanted a TT/SUB, like JJ's.

I was looking for a nice used one, with gold throu clasp and no holes case. Then I decided on a BNIB TT/Sub.........while I was in my procrastination mode, the BNIB TT/SUB - SOLD.

I then noticed the DJ line and figured I would pick up a nice used one......so forth and so on until I wound up buying the BNIB DJ. I did that because the price offered was well below my local AD.

LOCAL AD = $9,500.00 CASH

GREY MARKET = $8,000.00 CASH

Gee, the extra $1,500.00 is doing wonders for nice bottles of Cognac, Single Malt Whiskey, and three bottles of Moet & Chandon on my table for new years dinner.

I would not turn away from a deal on a second hand watch......., if these are such fine time-pieces they should be able to resist the usage of a gentleman.

Err buddies...Orchi is new here...hopes this post would finally get thru(after posting a few...none showed up yet)...sigh.

Orchi is a beginner...n Orchi has a small collection up till now.

ALL of which were bought in USED or AS NEW conditions(never NEW due to unaffordability)...from a trusted dealer cum an experienced watchsmith in Malaysia...with or without original papers.

As much as Orchi is concerned...what's more important is the growing loyalty n friendship between him n Orchi...which hopefully would last as long as we live...

Afterall...Orchi discovered early on...that owning a Rolex...would mean everlasting loyalty n friendship with...the Rolex itself.

I've had quite a few people buying my watches and they've been very happy customers.

As a matter of fact, one TRF member recently bought my SD and is rapt over it. In another instance, another member bought my SS Sub-date and is one happy chappy.

I try and keep my watches in mint condition. I don't abuse them and treat them with kids gloves. My Bluesy after a year still looks in pristine condition.

Anyone who buys my used watch is a winner!!
