There is blue and then there is blue….
Hi,
Well after many years of collecting, I have finally succumbed to a Rolex. Today, I brought home a Rolex Yacht-Master 116622 BL. Mind you, I have always respected their designs and quality, but the attention getting ubiquitous icon of luxury nature always kept me away from the brand. That was until today. I have been looking at adding a blue dialed sports watch lately and looked at offerings from many brands. There was just something about the hue and the chromatic nature of this blue dial of this watch that hooked me in. Here are two iPhone shots taken in the car on the way home from my AD. < I think what I like about this watch aside from its distinct and stunning dial is: 1) That while it definitely has the distinct design DNA of a Rolex enough of the elements are altered from the familiar to not automatically say “ah, that’s a Rolex”; 2) You just don’t run into too many of this model in the wild compared to most Rolex references. I have always enjoyed having less common watches. I will provide a more comprehensive photo essay/review soon. Regards, Bob |
