Rolex owners--What do you think of Breitling?

My ex Breitling Crosswind. Nice watch, but the white hands on white dial had too much camouflage....and that stationary Chrono hand drove me nuts!!!

I think Breitling makes some beautiful watches. I don't like all of their designs though.

Here are my favorite Breitling models:
- Windrider Chronomat (SS Black + TT Black/Blue Dial)
- Windrider Chrono Cockpit (SS Black + TT Blue Dial)
- Windrider Blackbird

Breitlings are good watches. Highly recommended, as long as you know what model you want.

If I was a pilot I'd be all over Breitling like a cheap suit. If I could find a use for all the buzzers and whisltes I'd own one. Big fan of 2 tone dials w/ subs. Breitling has history, lots of models, distinct design, celeb following, ect. Wonder why the hell I don't own one?

How about a chrono wrapped in an oyster as an option?

Weird thing about Breitlings is I've always loved chrono's but most of of the Breitling's are just too busy for me but I love the Navitimer which is the busiest of all. I see one in my future for sure.

Each watch mfg has a blingy category, Rolex is not immune to this.

Breitling has watches that are indeed blingy, and busy but serves a purpose to pilots. There are other watches that are simple like the Headwind, Colt, SuperOcean Professional (brushed finished), Seawolf that are simple.

There are other chronographs from Breitlings line that are not hard to use/read ie. Chrono Avenger, SuperOcean chronos.

I know JJ has his Breitling that was hard to read, but there were models were the indices were shiny which made it hard to read ie. Steelfish X-Plus models.

If I remember correctly I was in an AD a few weeks ago and they had a couple of Breitlings that were pretty simple in design and I don't remember them being chrono's. They were very nice and understated. I wish I had a pic. I was very surprised b/c they did not look like any B's that I was aware of.

I wear a Breitling (non-chrono) Colt Quartz II several days a week, looks good, keeps accurate time and I can slop through the kitchen grease and muck and not worry about it.

I like Breitlings. I understand resale value is horrible but that only matters to those that sell watch. I never sell watches or guns so it doesn't matter to me.

Very,very good and reliable watches.I own model from Aeromarine series,the famous SuperOcean and I`m completely pleased with it.I`m not a big fan of their design,their watches are too big and massive,I`m more in slim and ellegant stuff.
But,like I said,very good and reliable and perhaps the best buy premium watches at the moment.For example,most of their chronograph models are priced as much as Rolex Air King!

I bought an Aerospace in October 2006 as my first ever Breitling, and really the first nice watch I'd bought since my GMTII Red/Blk in 1996. Anyway I got the Ti model with blue face after seeing a bush pilot in Alaska with one earlier that summer. I just traded the Aerospace in on a Bell & Ross Hydromax because I never could get over the fact that I hate the quarter bezel markers on the Breitling. It's just not my taste, but I hate those markers....

If a chronograph is what your after a Breitling would do fine.There are several other makes that are well respected and fit into this catergory,Omega and Tudor come to mind and would be well worth looking at and comparing.

I guess it really depends on the style of Breitling you were after but I think with careful research you will find the right watch.

Another thing I do like about the Breitling is being able to keep the bling looking blingy.A quick wipe with a Cape Cod cloth and your like new again.

I have a black-faced SS Chronomat on a black leather strap, and I love it. I prefer my TT sub, but I actually get WAY more comments on my Breitling (which is fine with me) The styling reminds me of Spyker autos with the aeronautical feel. Lovely watch at a pretty good price.
