Thanks for the great read, Steve.
I wear my SD in black-tie, Regimental Mess Kit and business suits - it works with all three and also looks good with jeans and cowboy boots. It's a pretty versatile and universal tool-diver watch. James

Only, I would probably not call ALL the watches you list "Tool watches" even though they are tool watches by the lexical definition of "tool". There was a guy, Jenneret I think he was called, that coined the SD, Explorer ("1" and II) and GMT ("I", the "Pepsi") "tool watches" since those are the only Rolex watches that are availible in STEEL ONLY. The Milgauss should be added. Jenneret is mentioned in the chapter about the SD in the book by James Dowling called "The Best of Time - An unauthorized history of Rolex Watches" (in a footnotes that is).
