IMO, a Submariner or Submariner Date (black or green) is as much an all-week watch as the Explorer.

For a luxury weekend diver, I would say DSSD, Omega Ploprof, AP Diver, Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms or PAM 305 or 382.

When the masses flock in one direction, sometimes it's refreshing to head the opposite direction. Instead of a SubC, which will probably be the most common suggestion, how about you keep it in the family and pick up an ExpII. It's all brushed, 2nd time zone function, and doesn't scream look at my Rolex like the ubiquitous sub.

I already own an EXPII, which I love, and if I get another Rolex, it will probably be the SubC.

Just wear the Explorer! Explorer is my weekender Rollie. If you are hell bent on sub, get the no-date as it's different than the standard ones you see everywhere. But you should go try on a 216570 black or polar before deciding. Enjoy!

14060 - classic Rolex lines, tough (904L stainless), looks great on a bracelet or NATO.

Pelagos - Lightweight titanium, matte dial, 42mm (with proportional lugs), great lume, great bracelet, and rubber strap.
