The new DSSD is huge. I just turned down a good deal from a former AD (dumped by Rolex recently in their dealer purge) to trade my Subc + cash for the DSSD because it just did not work on my wrist. The older SD model would fit fine, but at the same size, the Sub is the icon.

Vintage SD with lug holes!!!! I ran across a fellow WIS in HI at SAMs Club. He was your height and I did not think his SD looked big on him at all. I had on my SubC and thought it looked bigger than his. Vintage all the way!!!! I really like the SD and consider obtaining one weekly just to have a different variation between the Sub and Sub Date.

Interesting......I know it does seem to wear a little smaller. I love both of mine

Similar challenge at 5 10 165. I strongly prefer the vintage Sea Dweller to the sub. The smaller date window and it's uniqueness make it perfect....

It is 1mm smaller, but on the dial. The case is the same 40mm.

Get the SD. Unless you compare a Subc, then of course get the Subc.

It doesn't have a smaller date window, just lacks a magnifier.

sounds like sub for you, but try both first.

Every body has a Sub go SD. It is a little thicker, but you get use to it fast

I'm 6' and 200+, but have relatively small wrists.

I tried both the DSSD and Sub-C and felt that the DSSD was WAY oversized for me.

It all comes down to personal preference, once it's on your wrist, you'll know if it's right.

A few years ago, I met one of our customers who was a very slight man, maybe 5' 6", 140, and he was wearing a DSSD and to me, it looked like a toy watch on him, but he loved it and that was what counts.

I have the pleasure of owning both the 16610 and 16600. The SD is definitely the favourite, it feels more substantial on the wrist and I prefir the the date minus the cyclops. The Submariners are more popular, but you can't go wrong either way.

I'm about your height and very skinny wrist

I would say you are fine with either. If it was my money id have an SD.

Its a bit higher on the wrist, yet it is not huge. It also a bit cooler with the He valve (not that it's going to be used much I just think its a cool feature) but other than that they are very similar looking.

Sorry to complicate things.... but you can always cheat like I did. I prefer the Sub, but hated the cyclops... so I improvised by simply removing the cyclops.

Very cool. This would even better on a Subc.
