Or even safer, maybe if you plan visiting Hong Kong often from the US anyway, keep the watches in a bank locker and carry 2 at a time, you and you wife can wear one each but will take 6 trips. Apparently it's not a trademark violation if you wear it on your wrist!

I guess that's different rules when it comes to moving house, it's not regular import in this case. The most important thing
is that you declare the watches before entering so you will not be suspected of smuggling, then it can go really bad. Contact the U.S. Customs for clearance, it is easy to be wise when it's too late.

I can tell you that as a Mexican national moving back to Mexico after leaving overseas for a few years, I was able to get a "one-time" stamp on my passport indicating that I was moving back and therefore I did not have to pay any import duties on anything that I brought back. Maybe the US has a similar rule?

I was in Singapore as an expat for over 10 years. When we moved back to the states. We had 2 Cartier, 2 Rolex, one Concord, one Omega. We just hand carried them back in my brief case and handbag. After all, our passports indicated clearly that I was an expat for many years. We had no issues and did not declare them because we were not tourists visiting S'pore. These are used watches like yours. I would not carried them in a large watch case to attract attention but I would not hide them either. If the customs sees them, I would just tell I used to live overseas as an expat and I am a watch collector. I would suggest to carry the receipts with you to prove that these are used watches and you have purchased them during the years as an expat.
