Hi!
What a beautiful watch and it looks fabulous on your wife's wrist! I am currently deciding between a 31mm and a 36mm Datejust for myself and your picture has helped me decide. Originally I wanted 36mm watch but every time I try one on I felt like it just overwhelmed my wrist. The 31mm always seems just right though. It looks big enough on her wrist.. and that's the look I'm going for.. oversized but not HUGE. Thanks to you and the Mrs. for the help! Congrats to her! |

Glad it helped. I was going back a fourth on the 36 and 31. My wife was using my 36 DJ for a week or so to get a feel. She loved it and figured that was the size for her. I also liked it but it seemed a little to big for her. Didnt look too big it just didnt fit her wriste and what I thought was perfect for her. Of course I didnt tell her that as my main goal was to get her into a Rolex for the first time! Good thing the AD had both the exact same watch in both sizes. Once she tried them on there was no turning back. The 31 just looked perfect on her. Not too small and not too big. She is 5'4" and 120 pounds. Her arms are pretty thin. In my opinion the 31 is the perfect everyday watch for a women. Maybe one day Ill convince her on a SS Daytona white face to sport it up a little. I took some pics with my better camera Ill post tonight. Good luck and please post pics once you decide.

Hi again Melrob!
Yup.. I agree about the 31mm size.. when it's right it's right! So clever that she wore your 36mm for a week to do a trial run. I have 2 Rolexes that are both 26mm (the white gold one is in my avatar) so I am now throwing MAJOR hints my husband's way that I REALLY need a mid sized two tone one to add to my collection. I thought a good selling point would be if that I chose a 36mm watch we could "share" it. I'll wear it for a year with some links out - and then he wears it for the next year with the links back in. Sounded like a good idea to me. Then it kind of dawned on me since he really doesn't care much about fancy watches (he is more of a car type of guy) it would be silly to get something that I don't LOVE just so he can wear it too! Best wishes for the misses with her new lovely watch! When my new mid sized does arrive (hopefully soon) I shall post a pic ASAP! |
