Usually I'm interested in the Olympics but with Russia and they're corruption allegations and wildly public anti-gay rehtoric they won't get any of my viewing time. Just not interested this time 'round. My least favorite omega has become the Sochi Seamaster lol

I think, my friends, You should remember, that we have members here from every country and if I remember correctly, politics should be forbidden subject here. I am a professional sports coach and it is very stupid to mix sports and politics. You can find many problems in every country, if You want to find some. Some countries even keep people in prison for many years without a trial I also suggest to read and watch also other media, than just Your local one and also think, if everything is true, what You hear. I have been in big sport happenings in many countries, also in Russia, where people were very friendly and everything was ok. Many athletes, who participate in Olympics have sacrificed many years, a lot of their (and their families) time, a lot of money etc etc to do their best there. You should respect also that. If You could even understand what it means to be an athlete. P.S. Sorry, but I just had to comment. |

The question is not, if the sports is more important than some other thing. Sport is sport and it is the best way to get different kind of people together, and learn about other people from different countries. Athlets, team officials, coaches etc etc do not talk politics together in those sport happenings, they get to know eachother and usually find themself, that those people, that should be "our country enemies" are just the same, as they are. They make friends from different countries and if travel to different countries, see themself, that those countries are usually much different, than media want to show at home. If you want to talk politics, or change the world, you have different forums and ways to do that. If you want to make world more peaceful place to live, sport is one of the best way to do it. When you travel to different countries and make friends around the world, you do not want to start a war every time, when someone is not thinking the way you are:) Basic human rights...hmm. In Europe we might have some opinions about that, if see what is happening in some other countries, and i do not mean Russia or Arabic countries. :) Everyone should first look at their backyard and then to mirrow and after that give critics to other countries human rights problems. Sorry again.. |

I am sure all of you guys have heard of this "black widow" chick? I hate say it but so far it has been a bit of negative start. That being said, super excited to see the skiing. I moved from the east coast to the Midwest - miss the mountains!

As some of you guys cannot play nice I will say this once and once only this is a watch forum and not a political or human rights forum. The discussion was about the winter Olympics let keep it on that subject only I do not want to ban members but make no mistake I will.

Max, Joe, may be we should not visit Norway and refuse to buy Norwegian gas because of Breivik??? Norway raises nazis like Breivik... Fair enough? Or, may be, you will listen the moderator and leave politics and your gay opinions aside? Focus on GMT, please.
