No, I've just noticed that hue of patina seems to be prevalent there. Beautiful watch by the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I noticed the color-thing from the region too and was wondering why that is. There are many watches that are even much darken and more saturated. Maybe some more educated forum mebers have a good explenation. |

I have also noticed this from a particular seller in HK. Have you noticed this from multiple sellers/sources from HK or just one in particular? Just curious!

Adam, every vintage watch tells the story of its life through its condition, patina, dial, bracelet, etc. Those three bubblebacks must have lived very interesting lives and are still going! Thanks for posting.

What some people call patina, others might call water damage....

Its many things but certainly not water damaged. That causes peeling of the dial, and not the tropical effect you see here. This is sunworn with "melted" tritium.
Makes for a beautiful effect to my eye, but then again I'm a stickler for an honest watch (scars and all) and I wouldn't dream of replacing any of the beautiful dials in this thread just because a "NOS" one may be available. |
