This is so true. I just recently bought my first vintage timepiece after owning modern Rolex timepieces for almost 10 years.

Amazing result for this poll: now the three options divide the audience at about 33% each!

I am absolutely not into vintage, sure some look great, but the poor quality of the bracelets and clasps have always kept me away from them and always will, I got my first one, a sub C LN when they introduced the new clasps...

Modern for me. Can't and don't know how to appreciate vintage Rolex. Too much hassle if you ask me, like verification, maintenance and fussing over minute and to me unimportant details. So I think I will stay with modern Rolex. Anyway, with luck and given sufficient time, certain current modern Rolex are future vintages, isn't it?

There is one Rolex vintage that I really like though. The 1655 Explorer II. Such a cool watch! Wait, there's another one, a vintage Sub with a Golden Tropical Dial. Forgotten the Ref.

All! I love having a four-digit, a five-digit, and a six-digit Rolex in my collection. There is so much to appreciate about each step of Rolex's evolution, it would be a shame to overlook entire generations of them.

My two Subs are over 20 years apart (1974 & 1996, approx.). I love looking at them and seeing how the Sub has evolved. Each part of the watch is the same, but different. And then you look at the SubC, for example, and it's one more step of evolution. (This really makes me realize that I need a ceramic Sub, dammit!)

I have a 1680 red that pairs up nicely to my 16610LV. I genuinely love them both equally. The watches are over 35 years apart and I feel like I time warp every time I switch between them.

I love them all I have a vintage Seiko diver (6309) which is over 32 yrs old, and a 16710 classic (3186). One older, one newer. All I need for now.

No disrespect meant but... I think you have to have a pretty open mind to drop 9k on a new watch too!

The only vintage I like is that one model that has a super complex movement. Other than that I like the new ones and would most likely opt for a newer model

I appreciate both vintage and modern.

Vintage redsubs fit me the best. But I also like the sapphire crystal on my more modern sea dweller ...
