I've read that the dial normally accounts for half the value of a vintage Rolex. Damaged dial and the insert is shot. Unless that Sub had the box and papers, I'd say its worth at most $5000.

My feeling for chipped 1680 dial (or 5513 or 5512 dial) is that the watch is worth what it would be if it had a perfect dial minus the replacement cost of said dial. Whatever the market value for that might be...Oh, I'm sure a damaged dial is worth something, but I'm just being conservative here.
