I really like this reference, and it is just different enough to appeal to me.
Wear it in good health
Cheers

Thank you all for the nice comments! Any uncertainty I had about my choice has pretty much been squashed!
It really is a stand-out DJ. The Daytona is winning the "daily" fight, but when I return to work after recovering from foot surgery, it will get lots of wrist time!
So now that I've got the only ROLEX I'll ever need, plus one....
What's next? 😉
(The official answer is earn more watch money, but that's no fun!)

I think that this may be one of my favorite datejusts! I love the red hands and text. Bezel looks fantastic as well, nice choice! Enjoy it!

I decided on this:

It's a beautiful example (G-serial) in mint condition. How it sat in the classifieds for a week at the price, I dunno, but I'm glad!
I've been wearing Speedmasters and Daytona's for a while, so getting used to the size again will take a few times on the (7.5") wrist.
I didn't realize ALL the dates were red. I thought it was a roulette! Nice surprise. Thanks to all who shared thoughts on which Datejust, and convincing me the red sweep hand is cool! And thanks Andrew "afc1" for making it happen, and making it smooth.
