If I were the seller, I'd thought you could communicated much better. An interested buyer keeps in touch and make sure the
item is not being sold. I probably would have interpreted it as your interest in the item was not as big. Of course, I'd been pissed
if you promised 2 times to transfer the payment. You are certainly honest in business, but you should maintain a good reputation
and a good business ethic so you should probably act differently in the future.

Well, not taking sides, but, it sure seems like the seller is a bit of a tool. "Leaving the seller twice hanging?" Just don't see that over a 36 hour period. Come on....this is thousands of dollars over the Internet. Comes with the territority.... Either the whole story isn't being told or the seller is a bit of a nut. Anyway, I would consider myself lucky for not having to deal with that person and move on. It's just a watch.

I'd like to step in and offer my two cents. I'm the one who purchased the Ball Engineer Andy had listed and I have to say that dealing with him was a real pleasure. He answered all of my questions promptly and with the utmost respect. I've bought and sold on eBay for almost 15 years and have always gave a buyer the benefit of the doubt when an incident like this occurs. I can count on one hand the ones who turned out being genuine deadbeats. Andy mailed it out right after receiving my payment. It's all in the hands of the postal service now.

I can understand the seller being a bit upset with there being zero communication as it is 2014, with all of the technology at our disposal these days there really is no excuse for not making contact. I do however believe that both parties overreacted in this situation, which we as humans tend to do from time to time. Moving forward, a simple apology would most likely go a long ways.

Sounds similar to a guy I once dealt with on a transaction. I'd suggest you do what I did with that guy and move on to other outlets. To date that guy has lost several potential sales to me, best way to deal with people like him is not to deal with them. In retrospect I wish I had at the time confronted the guy I dealt with in the watch out section.

Any time i buy a watch i want it YESTERDAY.....Therefore I take care of my end of the deal asap. Partly because in my mind i already have an attachment to it and do not want it sold out from under me.

I just don't understand why not send a text or email when you are unable to fulfill something you agree to do. Especially if my reputation was on the line. It takes seconds.

I think that you got banned with the ”litigation" threat. Not the lack of communication. If you had threatened me with a lawsuit I would have banned you too. Or were you already banned at that point?

I was already banned, the legal comment was out of frustration and feeling like the punishment was completely unjustified

wow. the commercial transaction, unless involving fraud or other unethical conduct, in no way justifies a ban IMHO. the seller just misused his power, doesn't make him right, just a bully. in the meantime, the OP's behavior was below par, and then made worse with threats.
makes for low energy, bad behavior all round.

I'd never leave the seller waiting for the money I once promised. Doing it twice gives a very wrong idea of who you are. If you're in the business of buying and selling watches even more so. That said, the guy banned you not only because he was pissed but to preserve other members from having the same problems in the future. The idea of writing a letter is really good. My 2c.

Previous dealings with a seller on this Forum confirmed in my mind that some people are unjustifiably quick to 'spit the dummy' over some imagined slight.
I would have contacted you and asked you if you were really serious about the deal and whether you could make a firm committment or not.
Unless money has been lost or a life threatened, it is all pretty 'small beer'.
The fact that someone, with whom you had an established successful business relationship, would behave in that way is surprising.
I find a lot of people these days lack patience, courtesy, and common sense.
