This worries me also. If they have made the dial the same size and/or smaller and increased the case size that may not look good. I have had a few watches that I ended up getting rid of for exactly this reason because they looked sort of un-balanced. I have first shot at one with my local dealer but it is really going to depend on how it looks in person as to whether I take it or not.

I wish the size of the dial was larger but that hasn't happen. I guess you could wear a huge block of steel on your wrist if you wanted.

Personally, I really thank Rolex for this watch as it makes me appreciate my vintage SD soo much more
Yeah, I agree. I think the new DSSD would get hung up a lot on shirt cuffs. The SD is big enough, and I love mine, but I think any bigger, especially with the writing, is a bit much for my taste. I personally like the subtle approach.

That being said, I was glad to see the first wrist shot! Thanks for sending!

thats one substantial watch!

according to my local AD (one of the biggest independents in the country) he advised me today this will be as difficult to get as the daytona.

Do I like it.......Yes Would I wear it......YesWould I buy it........YesWould I buy it at the current RRP.........No

I think its a whole lot of cash for a stainless steel watch. The Daytona price I can understand but not this one.If it came down to £3800 GB I would think again

For those of you that have your shirts made, just have your tailor add extra space to your cuffs. That is what mine has done for years. They are far more comfortable and any watch fits well under there. Even if you can't get those shirts, sticking the cuff under the watch will push it up and display it nicely. Just what most people want...a reason (or method) to show it off.

The dial is not busy enough yet. There is still some blank space where they can add more superfluous verbiage.

Nothing wrong with big watches, a time piece of this caliber should be that size.
Does anybody know, once they are released, what the availability would be, I'm thinking of putting my name on somebody's list to get one.

Now that's a CHUNK... The second pic makes it look more palatable. I'm reminded of JJ's thread about using your Rolex as a weapon... This one qualifies!!

Woe be the recipient with this one...

Unless this guy weighs, like, 90 lbs., that is, as the man said, a chunk.

Beautiful, though. Very beautiful.

(The watch, not the guy''s wrist.)

I second these comments.

It has grown on me too. If the DSSD was of a similar price to the GMTIIc here in Australia I would have a damn hard choice to make.

I like big chunky watches. Just my opinion.
