A casual observation:
Isn't it interesting that in today's world where the entertainment culture celebrates vulgarity and shock, today we collectively honor the death of a man who's works all included intelligence, integrity, manners and honorable acts. It's almost like we long for characters such as what Leonard Nimoy portrayed but are afraid to demand.
Just something I noticed.

Very true. Star Trek ran for only three years during the 1960s, followed by movies and other iterations of the series. Yet, the Spock character remains a worldwide icon and Nimoy honored the affection we all had for him. A writer, poet, director and actor who is today remembered fondly by the masses, NASA, scientists, astronauts and other actors. He lived and left quite a legacy.

Not many actors can claim creation of a character that has resonated with so many for so long.
Well done Mr. Nimoy.

R.I.P Mr. Nemoy and prayers to his family. Some of my fondest memories of being a young boy were watching Star Trek with my dad.

A true great. He played one of the most distinctive and influential characters ever to appear on screen, and he played him brilliantly. Spock must be one of the most widely recognised fictional characters in the world. Spock IS Star Trek, and a viewing of the original series will quickly reveal that it is usually Spock, not Kirk, who saves the day. Most of all, his appeal is timeless; my 17 y.o. son thinks Spock is the coolest ever.
