A 6542 PanAm white dial desk pilot GMT. Rare enough that there is some disagreement on whether it ever existed. Rolex, of course, is of no help and has never confirmed nor denied if the watch was actually produced.
Not so fast, don't spend all your prize money just yet. The Steve McQueen Explorer II is even rarer. Not sure if even Steve McQueen himself ever saw it.

I have a friend in Europe that has a Comex 1680. It looks exactly like mine, but I am told the Comex markings on a 1680 are extremely rare. I have been trying to buy it from him for several years now...maybe some day he'll relent.

The PN reference is to the rarer sub-dial font, not the person.
There are only 3 known examples of the early Yachtmaster with that specific dial.... John Goldberger has one of them; a famous rock guitar player has the second, and I think the 3rd one is in the Rolex Geneva safe... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgSYZIUrRkw

I never understood why the SD has a date feature. It was designed for deep dives. What good is the date for when you're 1000 feet below?

I was under the impression only 3 original yacht masters are known with any font.

has got to be the Single-red Seadweller - still not a bad price when they do come up and come up they do - I know of one for sale in a collection, authenticated by one of the auction houses
I think they wanted about $450,000 for it |

My 1908 Wilsdorf & Davis ladies pendant watch, from the same year Hans Wilsdorf registered the Rolex tradename.
