Im not a big Sub fan (I love the GMT's), but I'd take the Sub to the beach. The GMT I'd keep at home.

If the gmt has its pressure test up to date, flip a coin. Otherwise, take the sub.

thanks for the advise everyone i went with sub bc as someone mentioned the gmt not been pressure tested and is older so the security of the sub waterproofiness won

Resort or not it's totally fine.....I took my DSSD all over Playa and no issues. Sub is a good choice for the reasons you mention. Enjoy your trip.
