My wife wears a ProHunter Milgauss for the last year or so as a daily wearer. She also wears a Daytona and an AP Jumbo as well as a DJ. She has a 26mm but thats used purely for dress occasions now even though it started as a daily wearer. I think its purely up to you but I happen to really like the look of a large sized watch on a woman.

I prefer more classic traditional sized watches for men and women. I'd go to your nearest AD and try on various sizes and see what sings to you
I do believe smaller sized watches are/ will always be in fashion. My two |

There is only one answer. It depends. Really, that is it. It depends on your wife.

My wife is pretty tiny with small wrists. She wears a 35mm Yachtmaster most of the time and my 40mm Sub some of the time too.

Rolex is famous for being conservative and even they market 36mm watches specifically at women. The other thing to consider - especially if you're going to keep it forever - is that the larger watch dials are more legible. |

My wife won't even touch a midsize. She likes the 26mm ladies size.

My impression was that the OP is female and is the one looking for the watch - not the husband looking for advice on what to buy his wife. Besides I chose my wife's first Rolex and she seemed pretty happy with it. Well, she's not divorced me yet anyway. |

I am a female who wears both the 31mm & 36mm DateJust on a 6" wrist. If I had to choose only one out of the two, I would definitely get the 31mm.
The 31mm size is a better all around size for all occasions IMO. The 36mm size is purely just a casual fun watch to me. I would feel comfortable wearing the 31mm for a more dressy occasion, where I feel the 36mm would be way too large and would look out of place. The 31mm has more longevity as a women's "all occasion" sized watch IMO. The 26mm face was too small for me as a daily wear watch. If I were to buy the 26mm, it would be worn mainly for dressy times. All of this is just my opinion, everyone is different ;) So it all boils down to your own personal style. Are you a more casual jeans and tee, or do you often wear skirts and dresses? Will you be ok with buying another smaller Rolex or selling the 36mm men's size, if and when ladies watch fashion reverts back to the smaller more elegant sizes? Have fun in your search and good luck choosing the best size that fits your style ;)

Best to check them out at an AD, and decide for yourself without a salesperson's input (which is rarely an informed opinion and usually a sales pitch). I would use my wife as an example, but she is all over the map! She usually wears the 31mm mid-size I bought her over 10 years ago. But sometimes she wears a 42mm Hamilton military-look because she does enjoy a big tool-looking watch on occasion. When I owned a 36mm similar to her 31mm, she mistook it as hers, and I think she preferred it to her 31mm. But on a date Saturday night she wore a 26mm (dressed up) and it didn't look too small. I think 36mm looks best on her, or maybe a 34mm, but she is more into the style than the size. As resale goes, bigger is better at the moment. |

I am also a female. I wore the 26mm size for years and years and recently bought a 36mm YG DD. After wearing the DD for a week, I decided to sell my two 26mm DJ and buy a second 36mm SS DJ as an everyday watch. I love, love, love the 36mm size. FWIW, I am 5'3" and have < 5.5" wrists.
I don't think you can go wrong with any size. My best advice is to go try them all on. You will know what's perfect for you when you see it. Hope this helps!! |

31 or 34 for my wife. You just have to just have to try them on and see what looks good on you.

My wife never took off her Pearlmaster. Said she didn't want or need another Rolex. She loves her Pearlmaster. So one day I surprised her with a 36mm fluted bezel, black dial with diamond markers. She hasn't taken it off yet!

My wife has a 26 which she only uses for dressier occasions. She loved wearing the 34 mm Air King while we had it. She now wears a 32mm Tag as her daily wearer. For her the lower 30s are where she enjoys her watches the most.

I highly suggest you go 26mm if you have tiny wrists. It will ALWAYS remain elegant and classy.

My wife has a 26mm forever and i just got her an Explorer 1 at 39mm. She loved the size and readability along with it's classic style and ease of use. Generally i think the "fancy womens" are better in a smaller size, but i do like the badass look of a Daytona, Sub or GMT on a woman, it just has to worn a bit less serious than when men wear them, the YG variations come out nicely as well.

I really appreciate your suggestions and the pictures. I think I'm going to go with a 31 or larger. Especially since I might need reading glasses as I age and won't be able to see the small dial.
If I have other questions, should I start a new thread or continue here? |

Bought a DJ 26mm for my wife a while back. She is very trendy and petite. Generally she wears for work, going out, and dressing up. She will pick up her 31-36mm watches for everyday. She used to steal my 41mm Seamaster on occasion

36 would be the minimum. My wife has two daytonas and she just traded her 36 date just for the date just 2.

I think the 31 mm ladies DJ is a timeless classic.
