Look here. No one is really paying over sticker anymore.

http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f290/

For me my local dealer would sell me one at sticker. Pm me if you want the dealers contact info.

This seems like the only logical solution. Paying a penny over sticker is nonsense for this car or almost any car for that matter. Unless it's a rare exotic or antique.

The 2017 raptor will have the 3.5l ecoboost and should be tuned for the mid to high 400hp range. The GT is around 600hp and that is already a lot to be asking of a 3.5l on pump gas. Pushing over 200hp per liter (700hp+) would be way too much. Ford is developing a 5.0l ecoboost that should make its way in the new GT500 and hopefully a higher HP raptor.

Somehow I just can't pay list let alone over.

As others have said. Wait till may when supply is up and the price goes down.

We will have to wait and see. Ford isn't saying anything about a new gt500. Because of govt regulations the v8 may go extinct but I hope not. The new raptor and gt in 6 cylinders is faster than the v8's they replace but I'd rather have the v8 and be slower.

well......

I just walked past my GT performance pack while taking out the garbage.

I am right back where I was.....

I love my own car. It is not a "super" car. But it is super pretty and its fun to drive and I really like it a lot. And I own it outright.

It is just not worth it to spend the extra loot.

I tried today with the owner of the dealership. He is not budging on the 20k over list. Not even a dollar.

If it were list, I would still have questions about selling what I own and love, to pay for something more. I would likely do it as the 350 is just so awesome. But no. Not with the added costs on top of list. I just can't do it. Not when I am already happy with what I have.

Good call Seth. 20k over sticker is crazy. I could see MSRP but not over.

Revisiting the Ford GT350

At list, maybe. $20k over. Not a chance in hell. Only way that is doable is if you have more money than sense and it is going to sit in a climate controlled garage on jack stands with 0 miles. A two year old one with "average" miles (24k) will be depreciated from msrp and you will take a bath.

By the way, I was talking to a good friend that owns an Acura dealer about a new NSX and got the same response. $50k over msrp. Says the market will demand the premium. We shall see. For his sake I hope it does. But I still called him
a criminal.

Not a bad idea. If you get the mod bug bad pick up a slightly used gt500. With simple bolt ons you can beat 99% of the cars on the road.

Not really the idea of the thread to debate the merits between the two.

But for arguements sake, the idea that American cars suck kind of went away over a decade ago.

To make a statement like that now is just plain silly.

Yet you feel the need to thread jack the op by putting down American cars. Go enjoy your Audi/Volkswagen somewhere else.

that guy obviously has no idea what they are talking about IMO.
I have now seen a few american cars blow the absolute doors off european builds, so I'm not sure where he is getting his info from

$50k over on a $175k car? Not going to happen.

3 years ago I tried to get an Acura dealer to take a deposit with the stipulation I could buy at MSRP.

They refused. I'm glad they did because I don't think it's worth MSRP now that the car is completed.

I've never paid over for a car but this one would be worth a small premium IMO. Not $20k though.

When he and I were talking about the nsx when it was originally put out there a few years ago the best "guess" on the price was $100-$125k. And he had a couple people that handed over deposits and have been waiting. I imagine that at closer to $200k they bailed. Because he was talking like theirs was available. Just cannot imagine that any dealer is going to get multiple units this year??

paying over is just like giving the dealer a day date as a thank you , for letting you give him money ,,, i would never go down that route on principal.

Yep - I thought it was going to be about $125. Not a $175k hybrid with dead steering.

If I were going to blow $175k on a car right now it would be GT3 RS or R8.

Roush wont do it.

They will provide the guts, none of the cosmetic stuff.

Apparently, unless they sell the donor car too, they wont provide a full stage 3 option.

Too bad.

I do a lot of my research here. http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/forum.php

If you want to mod this is a great place to start.

I appreciate the link. Thank you.

I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to this type of stuff.

I want to keep my warranty as long as humanly possible. If I keep it long enough that it runs out, then I might do some mods.

But most likely, I will find some way to scratch this itch.

Already looking at different options. Stingray, Hellcat, Cayman etc..

I might just do nothing...but that's boring.

I hear you. I bought my American muscle car on Black Friday so I go a free 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. I won't really touch it till that is over but stock it is plenty fast.

Of the cars you list I'd go hellcat.

For a cheaper thrill Than the gt350 if you love that type of car instead (more track oriented)
I'd look at the new camaro 1LE.
Lot of bang for the buck and no dealer adm's. Good luck.
