I would kill to have an In-n-Out in NYC or anywhere on the east of the Mississippi for that matter

We live between two of them, each about 10 minutes away! The only thing I liked better was Mr. Pete's in San Clemente, CA. A burger topped with pastrami, zucchini fries, looking at the ocean.

One thing a lot of people do not know about In-N-Out is it is family owned and they take very good care of their employees!

Had in and out years ago. I can still taste it.

Well, I guess not after you consume all those divine meals you post about.

The original Shake Shack is great but I have to give the edge to In and Out. I just wish they would come to the damn East Coast.

East coast so no in n outs here....lame

That said I can get a good burger at various local places so I don't care. It's not something I could eat more than once every few weeks anyways.

Used to love In-N-Out. Then learned about their meat supplier. No more In-N-Out, only grass-fed non-grain-finished beef going forward. Used to love to go to In-N-Out, especially on road trips.
Supposedly they asked their supplier to accelerate their progress towards establishing antibiotic alternatives

I see it as In-N-Out is sweet, Habit is savory. Both are delirious.

I visited the Shake Shack in Vegas a couple months ago, I've never been more disappointed walking out of a restaurant. The burger was one step above a McD's burger. The hot dog was decent but nothing to write home about. The fries, yuck!

Oh I love In-n-Out! Double double animal style. It was much better when no one knew about them and you didn't have to wait in line for 30min.

My dad was actually one of the fire fighters that responded when the owner died in a plane crash. In-n-out has always treated the local fire fighters very well. They comped my family's meals growing up as a thank you to my father. They would even send the food trucks to brush fires to grill up some burgers, fries and milk shakes for tired and hungry firefighters. Great company!

Know where I'll ge going for lunch today. Haha

Love in and out! Would eat there much more often if it wasn't for the wait at all hours of the day!

Yeah Shake Shack is "ok" but it's no In & Out, that's for sure...

There is a Northeast semi-chain called Wild Willy's I think it's based in ME, anyway it's a kitschy western themed burger joint, that is kind of clunky in it's ordering process and comfort but my god are the burgers good! You order a medium rare and you actually get a medium rare and the juice (yes I know it's fat) runs down your arms. If you see one stop and have a burger!!

Not at all surprised to hear this. Shake Shack in expanding too fast and can't keep the quality control in check. The original location is incredible but as you venture out of NYC, they become less and less impressive. The Miami Beach location is also very good though.

Danny Meyer is a restaurant genius and runs some of the best restaurants in NYC but I think he's bitten off more than he can choose by taking the concept public and not remaining close to it's operations.

The edge definitely goes to In and Out.

First time I walked into a Shake Shack, I ordered a double shack burger, cheese fries, and a shake. I finished half of each and felt like defibrillation was in order. 👎

Shake shack is solid, and they opened one in Baltimore recently, but my wife keeps me away from it!
