No 15202. My buddy wanted one and it was on my list. The irony is the building they are moving to is owned by Marcus, no word of the opening date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is this why marcus sold his epic vintage AP collection? Disdain for losing the AD status to the boutique? (Pure speculation no info to support that assumption)

I wouldn't be surprised if that in fact was the case. The gossip was that Marcus wanted to open the boutique in conjunction with AP like Westime but was turned down. Who knows, just a foot soldier here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Interesting, should drop by to take look as I am heading to London. Looks like more and more AP is heading towards purely boutique business model.

RM is kind of out of my league for now. No interest in the other brands. Visited them 2 years ago and almost bought an AP EOT. They are one of the better ADs AP had, very professional and sales people hve excellent product knowledge. Kind of pity AP is revoking their distributorship after so many years.

Wow, that sucks and I am surprised that Marcus will no longer sell APs!
Quite shocking! They're a big name in the business and have been around for some time. No more, apparently. Too bad. |

sorry to bump an old thread, especially since Marcus stopped selling AP last year.
But, since it is such a great place i thought i would let anyone know who is interested they are closing on July 23rd. So all of their other pieces will be on sale. They are going to be open 7 days a week until then so i guess they are pretty serious about getting rid of stock as almost everything on Bond Street is closed on Sundays usually. Apparently they are re-opening in Berkeley Square sometime next year but will be focusing more on other art forms and not watches In any case since Marcus was the go to place in London for many many years i figured Id give a heads up to anyone in the London area who may be interested |

I had a very bad experience trying to negotiate with this AD in London. The sales person there was 'the' most arrogant seller I have ever dealt with in a watch store, ever. I dont know if that was the standard treatment for 'unknown' potential customers, but I was really shocked by his attitude, especially comparing to how nicely I was treated everywhere else during my quick stay in London (having visited several watch boutiques).

I can't help it, i don't like AP and its bulky appearance. But that is my personal taste of course.

no its at Almar which is their sister store located in burlington arcade. That store only sells new old stock watches. If that store is closing too since they are both owned by Marcus then deals on older AP's are to be had there too as they already had all the AP stock Marcus didn't sell when they lost their AD status last year. I don't know if it is closing or not, but they have the gold and platinum Alinghi in NOS condition. The same two watches in the top right of the pic in post #5 |
