I've used Windex with Ammonia D once a year for over 15 years on my 16610 without any issues at all, gets all that black gunk out of the bracelet pins, restores a brilliant shine.

That said, I will soak the bracelet in a bowl of the stuff for 2 minutes, shake vigorously, watch all the black bits fly out, but I only dip the head of the watch for a second, then quickly rinse the whole thing off in cold water. So the bracelet can take some ammonia, not sure about the head outside of a split second to wash off the exterior, bezel, etc.

I'm not anal about my watches. Do what you want, they will survive.
But I use soap and water or Varaet on my watches.

I'm not sure. It was my mother in laws. It was in an aerosol can. 30 SPF neutrogena I think.

Looks pretty cool. No big deal you could always replace the insert if you don't like it. I'm too whimsy to use chemicals when cleaning my watch but I'm sure it's a non-issue for the most part.

I'm sure you're not surprised by the backlash on this site. It's a tough crowd around here. At least the title of your thread wasn't "bezel faded on my Rollie, is it safe?"

I spend a lot of time in the air and the UV seems to have done it's work on my bezel too, I've never washed it with chemicals tho, the faded bezel gives it some character.
