This is good advice. During the recession, there were quite a few ADs that went out of business or lost their Rolex account. Today I assume ADs in financial trouble will start moving inventory through the back door via gray dealers way before they are going into bankruptcy.
Some people have mentioned purchasing outside the US. Flying to Europe for watch shopping is probably not always convenient for many Americans, but I think more Americans fly down to the Carribean islands for a vacation and purchase watches there at a discount. |

I live in PA. I got 20% off of a datejust. My family knew the owner for over 60 years. sadly he closed. Might be a good thing, I would be bankrupt by now

If I knew of one I doubt I'd share it... I'd want to keep that to myself so it doesn't get taken advantage of and the discount goes away.

In Washington DC area, SS is usually 0% for Subs and maybe 5% some others. Anything in high demand, no chance for any discount what so ever.
Even Costco had a DJII w/ Fluted 18K and it was 22% off. Good luck on finding 20-30% in an AD. |

Tough to get discounts on popular SS models unless you have a long standing relationship with an AD and even then 20% would be tough.
TT models you can get a larger discount.

I saw the Rolex dealers in the US Virgin Islands doing 15% but that was a few years ago. Any dealer in the USA discounting 15-30% could have problems. Rolex has been know to audit their AD's if they hear of discounting.

20% is a home run on SS. 30 just ain't happening bnib. Dream on if your set on the d blue. Expect 0-5% off.

20% and no taxes is the maximum I was able to get on the subC LN in the NW, it was early this year after the holidays AD was empty. I had to pay cash so no cash rewards from cc. I think that is tops for a regular consumer. Gray dealers obviously get it for less. Maybe 25%?
Go to the AD with "cash in hand" and negotiate. |

Rolex Purchase
Quote:
If you look hard enough you can find SS discounts at or around 15%. For popular models, D-Blue, BLNR, Hulk, drop that to 10%. Might be hard for a first time purchase. But it's out there and certainly possible. As others have said, expect nothing without a relationship. I live in PA. PM me and I'll let you know where I get mine from with a nice discount. I've never heard of a discount like that on a SS Rolex. Especially a popular model like a Sub/GMT/Datejust. There are just too many people willing to pay retail for a dealer to discount them...

I am traveling to Germany next week, will be in the Frankfurt area. I'm thinking very seriously about a new YG Sub or YG GMT. Any advice on AD's there that offer discounts? or thoughts as to what level I could expect to get?
