I'm really sorry for what happened to your Daytona. As mentioned above, the price is going to be much more of 400. I think that is the price of a regular service without any replacement

The irony here is that most people use natos as the most secure strap for diving etc to prevent spring bar failure. Seems like the weakest link came from a less obvious spot

Sorry to hear, and I hope you get out of it for less than $1500... service cost on the chronos are more than just a 3 hander.

Did you put it back on the bracelet before sending it in for service? Or head only?

I feel very sorry to hear about your accident. I feel for you.

That said, I truly don't understand why people remove the fantastic Rolex bracelet for some fugly cheap strap. I really don't. I most certainly don't want to add insult to injury but when I see those nice Rolex watches on cheap straps, well, I

I assume you don't want to use because you are afraid your rates will rise. Can someone in the insurance industry weigh in on how such a claim might affect your premium?

It totally depends - carrier, claim threshold, claim history.

Huge bummer Dave. I hope damage is minimized to the crystal and not the dial or hands.

Please let us know how things turn out.

That's got to hurt. Do yourself a favour and get rid of the crappy straps. Burn them!

Hey Dave sorry to hear that your Daytona was damaged.

You know it could be that he, (the Daytona) was upset that you removed him from his nice strong SS Band...

That's a shame. I sure it will be up and running as good as new when the RSC is done with it.

That's a James Bond color scheme NATO from the most respected maker there is. It is a perfectly classic look you just don't know it...yet

Ok so maybe not meant for a Daytona but still.

Bummer my friend. I'm sure it will be back on the wrist in short order.

Sigh, things happen and a few dollars and a bit of service time will bring her back to life. Maybe buy another rolex while you wait :)

Maybe you learned your lesson and won't wear cheap straps on the most expensive SS watch Rolex makes next time. It's like buying a Lamborghini but then getting wheels from Wal-mart with used tires

Broken Daytona! The horror! The horror!

James Bond nato.....James Bond is too smooth for that to happen to him though..... But sorry to see that. An unexpected ~$1500 expense around Christmas time sucks pretty bad.

Really sorry to hear about this and I am sure it will be back to new soon. Can you educate us a little more on what happened to the strap to cause this? You mention the clasp...? A lot of us wear Maratac natos and I thought one of the more well made natos out there. Thanks!
