I have always said I that the Platinum DD is one of my absolute grails. However, having now seen the WG/Green Dial DD in the flesh and the fantastic pictures here on the forum I can honestly say that would now be my preference. The fact it will allow you to keep hold of your PP makes this a no brainer for me!!! Option 1 all the way.

I voted Platinum DD as I own a DD II with the Ice Blue Dial. The only challenge for me is that I do have a lot of money tied up in it. As I get the urge to buy other watches it is tough to put down additional cash when I have so much there. I like the WG but the blue dial with the roman numerals is the one that sings to me. No wrong choice here. Go try both on. You will know.

Let's see.
1 DD + 1 PP VS 1 DD aaaaaa....first option without any hesitation.

Personal taste
I really dislike the Johnson's Baby blue dials on pt Rolexes - it's such a weak color. I'm also not a fan of green dials, but if it allows you to keep the truly excellent 5164 then it's a price worth paying.

If finances were not an issue, Platinum DD>>>>>> WG Green.
Green DD is a nice addition to a robust collection, but a platinum DD with the ice blue can be your one and only. Roman concentric for the win! |

Commercially you are better to keep Patek and get WG DD, love my platinum but I would not buy new and take the hit Patek will go up in value. Not trying tot all you out the platinum but I have always been conscious of the sale proposition.

Wow !!! You did damn good brother....congrats on that stunner and wear it in good health. On a side note....does anyone know if the dials that we're just released for the 118238 would work on my 18238? I really dig the new style dial variations that are available and if this can be done I'll definitely buy one and have it replaced from the current dial that's installed on my DD. Look forward to the replies. |

Great choice, congrats! So how do you determine which to wear since you also have the Hulk? Which is also green.
