Here's another. Not a great photo but I figured I'd snap a quick shot of mine to add to this thread which features this classic 18038. Mine was purchased in 1985 and has been polished by the NY RSC once several years ago.

It's very common for the crown side lug to be thinner, it is NORMAL, very well documented.




watch looks fine, relax, or sell it and get something that doesn't make you worry about such things.

Interesting. I've heard of that on GMT's but didn't know it carried over to other models. I'll do some more research

Uneven lug width is normal.

Do you have another picture of the dial? Looks more broken/off white than actual white (with the snow next to it).

Nice thanks for the input always wanted a white dial also. Stands out a little more definitely more legible. And it has Lume now.
