As a new buyer, I'd spend more time researching the seller than the actually watch.

Got to agree with this.

Also you're only 22, no need to rush into anything. Take the time to either make sure you're 100% familiar with the watch you're looking to purchase or save up and buy new for the AD.

Me personally, I'm glad I wasn't looking at Rolex's at your age as I guarantee they wouldn't have survived.

And don't forget that many watch retailers, ADs, and watch repairers/technicians will authenticate watches for free or a nominal fee. Even when I buy from one of the forum's "trusted sellers," I still have a certified Rolex tech in my town verify its authenticity during the return period. That brings me more peace of mind than any diligence on the seller would.
