I imagine there was similar outrage when the first solid gold Submariners and Daytonas were released years ago.

Does anyone know the $ to replace a broken bezel?

Interesting thought: how was Rolex outrage spread before Internet forums were invented?

Did fans write letters to each other? Did Rolex people meet up at conventions?

So Rolex made something pretty for the very small market that wants it. BFD.

I don't mind either of the watches pictured. I would not buy one as I cannot afford one but to someone that can and likes it, it is perfection. There are a couple members here with the leopard Daytona and Steven Tyler from Aerosmith wears one. And I am sure there will be members with the skittles bezel Yacht.

Yeah.....Rolex puts out some stuff I I defineley wouldn't buy, but you gotta respect the talent and craft it takes to create them. The gem setting is ridiculously good.

The SACO is very cool in person. If I had the cash, I'd have one in my showcase with my art glass - it's modern art. It may not be to your taste, but there is nothing nasty about it.

Or are you referring to the leopard Daytona posted later in the thread?

I was told on Tuesday night 62k/81k usd

They offer 2 versions

Nothing wrong with having something fun in the tickle trunk. It is what makes some of us happy.

I tried to find the price but all I could find out was that the bezel is sapphire not diamond. ~£10k premium for a sapphire bezel seems about right to me?
£48,100 for that watch bang on the nose, I don't know how much the diamond faced one is though

Always fun to read the forum members reaction to some of the most extravagant Rolex timepieces.

Although they do not suit neither my personality nor the life style I appreciate them as art pieces and find them very interesting to look at. Some colour combinations are truly amazing. The level of detail is incredible.

So, for the right person all that colour, shine, bling - why not? I have never come across seeing any of such pieces in the wild but would certainly love to!

I love the overt jewellery pieces. Funny how the Leopard Daytona is sometimes singled out, despite having been in the catalogue for decades (and a cool piece).

The last thread about these pieces came to the conclusion that mainly women would like these and wear them.

The AD in the Dubai Mall told me that Russian men bought most of these gem models. The full pave diamond references especially.

Uh...whut?? Is this serious?

Well the thing is there are people with more money than sense that don't care to buy for a "fashion statement". I don't make fun of hybrids driving around my 700hp vette. To each his own.

It's not for the 9-to-5 desk-diving suit-wearing mom & dad, but there's definitely a market for it (from the perspective of my industry).
