I would not buy a TT watch without a discount.

What kind of deal would your AD offer on a 114060? Anything?

Authorized dealer said no discount?

Always hard to tell with Subs but I'd suspect they would.

Bought the Rolex. $13450 MSRP ladies TT 28MM date just with star diamond settings. They sold it to me for $13450 taxes in. So 13% off. Purchased in Ottawa. They said not much discount because they got it in 2 weeks ago and that it is a new dial model they got recently

Congrats! I was unable to swing that kind of discount, unfortunately. I just bought my first Rolex, a black Sub Date and my local AD simply would not budge. I went into that store several times with full intention of buying and walked right out the door! All I really wanted was to get the tax knocked off. I was negotiating with the assistant manager and she claimed that she may be able to get the taxes taken out, but when she called the store owner, he apparently said it was a no-go. I eventually swallowed my pride(and my wallet) and bought it at full retail... but I did get 0% for 1 year, so it's not all bad. I realize that I had other options elsewhere, that could have given me a discount, but no 0% financing. So it was kind of a catch 22... oh well, I'm happy!

Most any high end product retailer won't discount over the phone for a multitude of reasons. They gave you as obvious as possible without saying clue that they could work with you in-person. Take them up on it and see what they can do. Good luck

Why is this? Do Rolex employ people,to phone ADs to make sure they do not Discount?

I guess AD's don't like to get played out against each other.
A serious customer in the store ready to buy can probably haggle a little.

That's what I figured too, but it just didn't happen. I guess it has something to do with the fact that my local AD is actually a chain store with many shops on the east coast.

they can, but why would they if they feel like they dont need to? makes no sense to expect it. You can shop around, but its their watch

I dont care what the price is in an abstract way, its not too much if everyone else also pays it and thats the real issue, what someone else pays not the actual price. I hate discounts because it just devalues your watch. You can never win a discount game. Somone else always can do just a bit better.

I wish they all just stopped all together

Your best chance at a discount is probably Damiani in Woodbridge. It’s tough to get anything discounted these days. This thread is from 2017 and is not indicative of the current market.

If I was them and you called, I would have said the same thing. From the sounds of your conversation, you didn’t come across as a serious buyer. Just one more guy asking about a watch, with no intent of buying. On a multi-thousand dollar watch, you need to go into their store and conduct business.

Go to the shop ready to buy........and don't buy it without a 10% discount. It is a 2 tone DJ!!!

AD can do discounts, of course.
I recently got a 10% discount on Explorer while everyone was saying it was not possible.

It all depends how the AD plays the game, if they choose to be greedy or reasonable. Walk away if they are too greedy.

Refusing to buy without a 10% discount is 'greed'. An AD charging rrp is not.

Feel free to not ask for discount! Pay them whatever they ask you for. I heard many ask even over rrp.

I always asked anf got a discount. My AD is good, knows that 5-10% discount brings them a lot more business than being greedy.

DJ 41 steel/Oyster/index/blue face/smooth bezel AD discount?

Anyone think it’s possible to get a discount at an authorized dealer on a Datejust 41 steel/Oyster/index/blue face/smooth bezel (126300) in Canada these days? I originally wanted the fluted bezel but that seems impossible to find within this combo (126334). Thanks!

A lot changed in 2 years!

I think you are more liklely to need to go on a wait list than get a discount on that model in 2019.
