When I first joined watch forums, I thought it was weird. When I first started taking wrist shots, my wife made fun of me. Now she doesn't notice. If we are out together, she offers up her wrist and Rolex for the couples shots....

It is a little odd, but in this day and age of people taking selfies and videos of all kinds of different activities, I don't think it is unacceptable anymore. You could argue whether any of this "selfie" type behavior should be acceptable, but it is a sign of the times.

I was in an airport a few months back and was trying to get a shot of my116613LB in front of the big Rolex ad with the same watch. It was crowded and people were giving me funny looks. For sure, saw a few "look at that ***hole" looks, but who cares.

I take wrist shots anywhere I please and I don't care who sees me or what they think.

The taking of wrist-shots can usually be done in a low-key manner. It's when I'm looking for a certain picture on my phone with somebody next to me....and they catch glimpses of watches.....that's when I feel slightly strange!

Apparently, very few things are socially unacceptable nowadays. Taking a picture of my watch is much more tame than most things I see people doing in public.

Worse when it's the wife & she goes "hey I haven't seen that before, when did that one arrive..."

Oh I don't even like to be taken pics of, so really hate selfies.
About taking pics of my watches, couldn't care less if someone thinks I am nuts, I don't do it in public, as it could make guys understand I have an expensive watch and give them the idea of mugging me, which would bug me...

I take plenty of wristies and don’t worry too much about what others think. As others have said, with so many people taking selfies these days, nothing is strange anymore. Likewise, I don’t give other people strange looks when they are taking selfies.

yeah even when their selfies involve me &/or whatever I'm wearing/driving... meh, just smile & wave. Life's too short to waste any judging others.

Popped into local Tudor AD few wks back, peeked at desk manned by young fella... briefly chatted, seemed knowledgeable enough on the new stuff. Then he noticed ancient OysterPrince on me & asked to take a pic... sure why not. Unclasped it & let him stage it nicely on his pleather tray. Nice fella.
