Price could be better but as long as you're happy with the watch. Do yourself a favor and forget this thread exists if you want to continue to be happy.

My pleasure !
I do not own a silver dial myself, but I love the way it is always changing according to the ambient light... turning to champagne sometimes

I knew my post would generate a lot of comments and perhaps some criticism. I adore the salesperson and wouldn't jeopardize our business relationship over a mistake that I'm almost entirely responsible for. She also gave me a 20 percent discount on my GMT Master II a year ago. This DJII is now part of my regular rotation and I love it. It is sporty and a dress watch at the same time.

Is she young and hot? Just kidding.
Well, I don't mean that you have to make her feel bad by pointing out the little mistake. I thought by letting her know and not asking for anything else from her/or the dealer will actually help strengthen the relationship.

I agree, should have been called the DJ40 like the DD40 as both are significantly smaller than their true 41mm model predessors. Calling it the DJ41 does run into problems as we have just seen, with both sides having arguable cases. It worked out OK for the OP but many will feel duped.

Good for you !
I certainly do not mind the slightly "bolder" look of the DJII.

I think they look great!

That's a great price. No way they could do the DJ41 for anything close to that. I think it worked put perfectly, congrats!

Here's the thing; DJIIs are taking a beating in the resale market. Not so certain that 20% will cover the loss if resale occurs. Liking it is one thing; being given a bait and switch is quite another, imho.

I went back and looked at the email exchange. I asked for a price on the "41mm men's date just," not the DJ41. I got a price that was 20 percent off retail. There was no deception on the AD's part. It was all on me. It helped to go back and specifically look at what I asked for and compare that to the response I got.

It's too bad that the DJII is taking a beating on the pre-owned market, but I suspect I'll keep it awhile, so I'm not overly concerned.

As long as you are happy with the DJII, nothing else matters. Enjoy your new watch.

It may be taking a beating right now since the DJ41 was just introduced in SS this year. However, the value could head back up after supplies run out and they become harder to find on the secondary market. But aside from all that, my view is you buy a watch for YOU to enjoy, not based on how much money you may or may not get for it if you decide to sell years down the road. Congrats again - I think you will be very happy with it as I have been with mine for the last three years.

That is a bit different considering that the DJ41 is smaller than 40mm. Actually my DJII was 41.2mm when I measured it. Regardless of current pricing I like the DJII better than the DJ41. Sportier and modern is the key for me.
