Any horror movies from the 90s and earlier are gems.

In fact the Tales from the Crypt series was more entertaining than 99% of the horror films coming out today.

Our family tradition for generations has been for the family to get together in front of the TV, crack out the hot cocoa & smores, bundle up in blankets, and watch one to two horror films a month.

The Japanese Ring was pretty freaky, esp after a few drinks you think she's coming out of your TV!

I thought Let the Right One in was a beautiful, moving film, loved the subtle, revenge ending.

I love Kubrick but would put Clockwork Orange and Little Alex as more terrifying than Jack and The Shining.

Yup, Ringu was pretty freaky the first time I've seen it. As for LTROI (Låt den rätte komma in), that's pretty high on my recommend list.

Goodnight Mommy was an interesting German horror movie from a few years back. It’s one of those movies that relies on the imagination to scare you. This movie is a great example of how excessive blood and gore is not needed in order to make a great horror movie.

There's a doctor in "The Exorcist" wearing a pretty sweet Heuer Autavia. The rest of the movie is pretty good, too.

Horror films don't scare me. I put it down to my great-granddad scaring me in a comical way when I was very, very young. It was "Right time for bed before Uncle Drac comes looking for you" sort of thing. I guess in a left-handed way, he taught me not to fear them.

As far as great horror movies go, it'll be a long time before anything surpasses the Exorcist; that film was way ahead of it's time. For a real suspense horror, the original Alien takes some beating. The Japanese Grudge (Ju-On) films are pretty cool as is The Ring.

For great action horrors, films I love to watch over and over are Aliens (the second in the series with Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton) and Dog Soldiers. Nothing scary but some great action.

The Midnight Meat Train is well worth a look too.

For blood, snot and guts the Hostel films are very good.

Early teens, snuck into a local theater with a couple friends to see the Exorcist.

Ruined me, no horror movie of any kind has ever scared me since.

Dog Soldiers is really unsettling, esp when they all just enter the room silently. Very low budget but great scary bang for your buck.

I don't really watch horror, only value to me was in the back of the cinema with a date and allowing you to get closer and closer as the film got scarier.
