Just out of potential judgement i would not. Like it or not there are many people that still judge a book by its cover and wearing a full gold Day date for a interview migth not be the smartest thing to do.

Hey its only probably 30mins - 60mins of your life. I'm sure you can go without a watch or wear a toned down SS version.

Wow...Im surprised at the answers. I accepted a position yesterday, for a title higher than what I applied and interviewed for with a 38% increase. I was wearing my Pt day-date

The last two jobs I interviewed for, I was hired after wearing a WG DD. It hasn't been an issue for me. I'm not an executive...I do contracts. Don't make the watch an issue and it won't be an issue. It is just a watch. (Although, i did not wear my matching pinky ring)

Own the interview. Be prepared and you will do fine. Most people won't even notice. Those who will notice are probably watch geeks too...

IMO, some folks give these watches too much power. Wear the watch don't let it wear you.

Again it is just a watch which suggest that you give a damn about your appearance.

Also,it seems that some are suggesting that a job interview is akin to begging. It is not. It is a fit check to determine whether or not two parties can add value to their respective causes. Being able to purchase a DD can suggest that one has delivered enough value to afford wearing one. It is a success indicator....not the determining factor. Own your success and wear it well.

you were wearing white precious metals, which most people will assume is steel.

But even if you were wearing yellow gold, that's still not a good argument for OP to wear his. it'd be analogous to someone saying they drive tipsy all the time and have never had a problem

Don’t do it dude! You will be self conscious about wearing a shiny watch and your interviewer will be distracted trying to figure out if it’s real or not. The only thing that you should be trying to prove is the skills you got and not how big your balls are for wearing a watch like that.

Oh please, the guy who hired me on the jobI just left told me on day one after he hired me, 'Your president is beautiful. I always wanted one, but I wear an Apple." I told him that he needs to step up his game and we had a good laugh. He noticed it during the interview because his dad wears one. It wasn't an issue.

Like others said,when you wear a suit, its mostly hidden.

OP, wear Rolex,especially gold of any shade, fearlessly.

And,FWIW, my wife wore her YG DD and a 6 carat yellow diamond to her last interview and got the job. Her leadership told her that she looked "put together" and presented a good image. People like a successful looking package.

I, for one, am sick of people looking like slobs in a professional environment. People should put their best foot forward. If you do it right, it will never let you down. That's my opinion.

there was a thread recently where someone called a YG watch "vulgar." I don't mean to validate the opinion, just saying it's out there and it's held by more than a few. No one can deny that. I wouldn't wear it.

It depends. I had yesterday job interviews where i was listening to different kind of applicants. One younger applicant said after the interview that he has one question: ”Is that platinum Day-Date?” He is a future WIS i think.

It depends on a situation so this one is hard to answer. It tells about your success and also about your wealth so i think it is an asset if the salary of the job is commission based. Your economics are not collapsing if commission is low during the first 6 months or so. It tells that you are ambitious, to some it tells you are stupid for paying so much for a watch. To some they see you as competition because of your car or watch. In my case interview would be stopped right away, to start signing the work contract :))

There is no objective recruitment process on earth so better to be neutral. Just concentrate on employers strategies, tactical benefit’s of choosing you to their organization and what is your part of it in the future.

A lot of factors figure into the hiring of individuals for jobs but what most seem to forget is that a job interview works both ways. I want to be a good fit in my environment and if the hiring parties have a corporate structure that is not comfortable with the show of wealth or success that is ok but do I want to be a part of it. The answer would be yes if the compensation was good enough to deal with it. I have worked for individuals early in my career that I would not have tolerated for 5 minutes later in my career but based on my age and status I thought that I had to put up with it, and did. Wear your watch, conduct yourself in a respectful and professional manner and let the cards fall where they may. If they hire you, great. If not, great. In the end, be who you are and move forward in you and your families best interest. Good luck.
