That guilloche is very nice. Price is not terrible considering the extra thin VCO is over £40K I seem to recall.

No, but I came across the same reference in RG with the guilloche dial, it´s really beautiful. The sales ad states it was a Paris boutique edition limited to 75pcs.

Having recently spent over 2hrs at a VC booth during a Jewellery Show, I spoke at length to the Middle East Sales Director and his service person who went into great detail about various movements, developments and service procedures.

That drew me in further.

Ive looked on the second hand market too and there is little available.
As I don't flip watches, resale value is of less importance but I would have to get a really good deal new, because yes, you are edging into Patek pricing which ultimately must and does influence you when spending that kind of money and ultimately its your final decision.

The quoted service turnaround from VC Dubai is about 2 weeks for standard models increasing slightly with complications.

VC will also restore any watch irrespective of its age so for those who intend keeping onto their VC's, I see no reason why not to buy a great watch with long history, great service and enjoy it whilst you can.

I tried on an Overseas yesterday in Vegas. It's beautifully made and nicely finished, and the micro-adjustment, replaceable straps, etc are really great touches that respond well to real-world user needs for wearability. However, the design left a lot to be desired to me. The piece overuses their cross logo in very unattractive ways; the bezel design looked awful to me, and the cross design in the bracelet is a bit much considering the cross is also in the bezel. The price point is obviously meant to compete with the RO, but while it was quite comfortable compared to the RO, I still think AP wins out purely in design/aesthetics. I liked the features of the Overseas but wouldn't want to wear one regularly. Sad, because I'd love to own a VC but that model just didn't do it for me.

VC is a respectable brand with a lot of heritage. It's not fluke that it's part of the trinity. Although I find their movement finishing lacks a bit of *Pop*. Dial and case finishing is up there with the best.

Noticed this hasn't been mentioned, but VC announced a new dial option on the Overseas line in black with a reverse panda dial on the chronograph which is now my favorite look on the Overseas now.

I'd been looking for a modern blue-dial watch for a while, and found this. By far, the sickest, most stunning blue I've ever seen on a watch. Dark navy, almost black, in some light, and bright electric blue with turquoise highlights in other light. The AD told me they used a unique lacquer process perfected in Japan, whatever that means.

The date model is slightly smaller at 41mm and slimmer than the chrono, which looked a little busy to my eye. The simplicity and vintage touches of this model are beautiful. Great strap options too. Nice!

I really like it. I'm probably 2 years away from buying a blue faced watch and its between this, an AP RO or a JLC Polaris (which is a bit cheaper)

That's an awesome sports watch. I actually like the Overseas models (all 3 generations) more than the Nautilus. Congrats on it. I actually tried on that same model, but it doesn't fit my 6.5" wrist very well, the leather bands flared out too much.

I wish more people on this forum were into Vacheron Constantin. I personally like their dress watches more than Patek Philippe's and Audemars Piguet's dress watches.

It seems like everyone has the same watches on the Patek Philippe Enablers'/What You're Wearing thread. It also seems like everyone has similar Royal Oaks in the Audemars Piguet threads. It'd be more interesting if people had Vacheron Constantins to show off, too.

Beautiful - I've been looking at this in pictures - no AD anywhere near me - thanks for the insight since u have seen it. If u don't mind - what's ur wrist size? What other watches, Rolex if possible, fit u well. Thanks.

My wrist is about 7 inches, and I find the 41mm VC Overseas Date a perfect fit. Great wrist presence, but I don't feel as if I'm wearing a hockey puck, like I did when I tried on APs. I especially love the height of the VC, which is only 11mm. I found the VC Overseas chrono, which is bigger than the date model, a little chunky for my liking. Did you try the rubber strap on the watch? (see below.) It contours to the wrist more than the leather, although I'm sure the leather would too after its broken in a little.

I'm good with most 40mm Rolexes and the DJ 41, but not bigger models. The VC is in a different universe, though, in terms of watch sophistication, finish, design and overall feel.

I'm mostly a vintage guy, but I always like to have one modern watch. I bought and flipped two new Daytona-Cs (white and black) and two new SD 116600s. I just got bored with them, and with new Rolexes in general. The VC is exactly what I needed for a change and a step up.

Thanks for the insight - beautiful choice. The dual time also has my interest - chrono Is beautiful but I have that base covered and based on measurements seems too big/chunky for me. Again thanks for the info - love my Rolex but looking for something different.

Does it wear significantly bigger than the Daytona? I have one of those so that may help me compare. Wear that beauty in good health.

The VC Overseas Date wears smaller than the Daytona-C, IMHO, simply because of the design. I realize the Daytona is listed at 40mm, but it looks bigger because of that big shiny black bezel.

As the oldest continuously operating watch brand, Vacheron Constantin make lovely watches that, in my opinion, offer much better finishing than Patek at their street prices. I have one and an contemplating another. Resale isn't great but if you buy right, you shouldn't take too much of a bath.
