I’d wait for Basel, and then wait on a fake waiting list for a year to get your hands on any new popular watch

Get the 114060! although HIGHLY unlikely if there is a new sub at Basel put your name down for one of the first at your AD then flip the 114060 for the new one. I've had my name down for a new sub release for over a month

Unless you are Dr Tom or the like, nothing unveiled at Basel will be available to us minions
for a year at least.. see Daytona C or SS SkyD, last 2 year releases as examples

OP buy the ND Sub...it is an icon

I am seriously thinking about picking up another one. Could be the perfect sports Rolex. I would suggest you do it and do it now!

Buy now for sure. New Subs generally come out in pm versions initially. Plus the 114060 hasn’t even been out all that long.

In my opinion nothing will ever replace the Submariner. It's iconic.

I was in a similar situation as op. For the above mentioned reasons I decided not to wait based upon speculation. I purchased the 114060 the moment the AD put it the display case. I have no regrets. It is a fantastic daily wear watch and I could not be happier.

Get the sub now all day. it's a black dialed sub, cannot go wrong. If somehow, Basel produces something that blows your hair back and (a big and) it's somehow available to you by summer, the cost of ownership on the sub, would be nominal. The likelihood of Basel producing a must have that you can buy in the near future is not good.

The Sub No Date is a classic if you really like it go for it. As mentioned in the previous responses, even IF there is a new model/movement it will take a while for it to be available also taking into account the price could be higher on the newer model, if there is one.

Thanks for the input. The 114060 is iconic and stands alone in my book. I’d be very happy with it. If a SS Coke did come out my friend would be able to get me the first one his boutique receives and as much as I love the Sub I’d rather have the Coke if it comes out. I may just buy the sub and if the GMT becomes available flip the 114060.

I bought the ND in december and I'm loving it so much. I'd just go for it, if I were you! Good luck on your decision!

There's a contingent of members who don't like the super-case and swear if Rolex releases a more slimmed-down successor, the current model will become instantly passé and a pariah among collectors. Some have referred to this phenomenon as a "maxicase bloodbath."
