If you’re worried about losing $1,500 then you have chosen the wrong hobby.

You like it, wear it. IMO, longer power reserves with new movements are worth it, everything else is not material to me in daily wear. The accuracy of my 25 year old 16610 is still fine for my needs and I can’t tell any difference to my new references unless I set out to time them simultaneously which doesn’t rate high on my list of priorities.

[QUOTE=Luv rolex;8364848]I have bought/sold many watches last year ie( offshores , tt daytona, lv and sea dweller).
It appears that you buy with the expectation of selling in the near future. In that case you should not wear the watch and carefully analyze the effect the Basel announcements will have on it's resale value in the short term. If you are going to keep it long term regardless of new releases then wear and enjoy. |

After Dalton worked on my GMT 1675, it loses about a second a day when I wear it. I wear it because I really like it. How much am I going to gain, time wise, if I go to the newest/greatest? Wear what makes you happy and enjoy it!

Well considering you don't know there will be a new release that is pretty pessimistic imho. Bottom line is don't buy a Rolex if you don't love it for what it is. My recommendation is to stop worrying and enjoy a watch which you bought because you liked it.

It's not six months. It's ten days. If there's no new Sub or no new movement in the existing Sub, then take off the stickers and start wearing that puppy. If there is a new Sub or new movement, then you have to decide if you feel like waiting long enough to be able to get the new one, but at least you'll know the lay of the landscape for the next year.

I'm sure many are waiting with stickers firmly on, and watching Trading Places every day in preparation as they wait for the Basel crop report... |

This No offense, but you didn’t buy the watch because you liked it, you bought it because you could. Buy what you like, and wearing it will be a given. IMO

That's +/- 0 seconds a day, week, month, probably year. My old DJ36 16233 was running 8 seconds fast a day when I traded it. |

In a mechanical watch for all practical purposes it isnt going to matter. You probably could have had your old DJ regulated to specs if you wanted.

You bought it because you love the look, not because it has a 3135 movement in it. Wear it.

If you are worried about the $1500 after removing the stickers, why not just flip it and buy one that is used in like new condition? That way you make the profit on the flip and you wont loose money off of use.

3235 does not necessarily mean more accurate than the old gen. So far I've had my SD43 for 12 days and it is the worst performer of all 4 Rolexes I have in terms of timing. It is consistently losing 2 seconds a day and is now -25s. With the others there is some variance in the -/+ such that the cumulative gain/loss over 2 weeks is from 2-10s.

Rush to your nearest horology counselor... A rare, serious and potentially fatal condition (as they say on TV) - “serial flipper-itis remorse”. Symptoms may include stabbing pains in the back of your shoulders like dangling on the horns of a dilemma. Now seriously... the values for certain transitional models do rise once Rolex strands them by releasing a new version. But I think the one you’ve got would eventually fade into the background if your fears come true. So I’d wear it. But if you are seriously concerned, just leave it in the box for 10 more days and you’ll know what’s up. Your dilemma may never surface. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess you could say that but some of us are serial collectors. I.E. buying for the short term to enjoy a watch - then within a year or so flipping it without losing money. Then only keeping the one(s) you really love. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
