It could be. This watch is all over the place in terms of availability.

I really had no problem sourcing mine last year.

Others have been quoted long waits (which is basically we don't need your money)..

I think it would be fair to say if you find a reasonable AD, you could have one in 2 months. That seems to be the most consistent report...the outliers being ones in the cases and 10yr blowoffs..

My AD said the same thing. Only 1 in 17, and 3 in 18.
He has no reason to lie since I’m not asking for one, but he was able to get 6 Daytona’s in 18. I am nagging him for one of those.

I found out one of the AD’s in my region put their relationship with Rolex on hold after they recently built out a new shop. Rolex wanted them to pay over 1.5MM to build out a boutique and basically stock it with DJs and OPs. Their reply back was not right now and not until we get watches we can sell. So for now they “hold the rights(?)” to sell Rolex in that area but simply don’t due to all of the shenanigans....

I wish more AD's had the balls to do that. If enough of them pulled out Rolex would surely crank up SS production.

WOW I don’t understand why someone would open a Rolex boutique anymore. If I’m a person with the interest & capital to open a watch store why would I turn to Rolex when I see what’s going on with there AD’s/boutiques. To this day I don’t understand how the SAs are making a living wage anymore; there must be a lot of underhand business going on for them to survive.

I’m sure AD’s, boutiques and SA’s are doing ok. They are selling watches everyday, and most likely every watch in every shipment they receive. Don’t let the empty cases fool ya! Rolex is sitting high and pretty much on autopilot right now. Mailbox money and us in sales calls it.

Correct. It can’t be easier than being a Rolex AD nowadays. Quantities of supply are predetermined and scheduled. Almost all pieces are pre sold in a decade. Cashflow and profit you may do with your eyes being closed. The difficult part is customer relationship management. You need to employ at least one psychologist.

I’m going to speculate that there’s over 7000 Rolex dealers around the world. I know with some certainty that boutiques and large volume dealers probably get a dozen or more a year. That would leave a bunch of dealers empty handed. Not buying it.

My local AD in San Francisco swears to me that he’s never seen a ceramic Daytona. There do appear to be some out there that are, indeed, left without product. But this isn’t all that surprising. A boutique showcasing the brand should get more than a plain old jewelry store that happens to carry Rolex...

Last time I went to one of the AD's near me they had never received a ceramic Daytona, and another one had only received 2 in 2 years. For every AD that gets a dozen there are a dozen AD's that get 1 or 2 or none.

Do not agree, there are many AD's in some countries which never saw Daytona. For example an AD in a country like India can't get you a Daytona. Rolex won't even send one there.

pretty sure thats not accurate. No daytonas at all? Unlikely.

Pretty bold statement for the second most populous nation on earth. India has by numbers (not per capita) more multimillionaires than Russia, Australia, and France.

And they tend to shop abroad (Dubai / Europe) due to tax. So it is no surprise they don’t get SS daytona’s.

are u serious ?? and smh

How do u even know that Rolex did not send one single Daytona to a “country like India” (whatever that means) ?
Did ur AD tell u that, too?

And whenever I hear “my local AD told me...” i take it with grain of salt since it sounds more like a rumor/gossip/heresay

How can that be? There are more than 1.3-billion people in India.

I believe it. They don't make many that's for sure. And obviously the more desirable dial colors they make even less....seems stupid, but it's true.

Out of the 4 ADs in Heathrow airport, only one has ever received a ceramic SS daytona and that was 1 in 2018. That is 1 in x number of years across the board. So it’s possible because it has happened
